Quick Update
Tonight is very cold and dark. It’s January and supposed to be the hardest winter month to walk though feeling positive and motivated. Our SOS Chai ambulance is out on the presqu’ile with a team serving a hot meal and seeking to encourage some very cold refugees to press on though these winter months. Hope is so important and my prayer tonight is that these significant boys don’t loose hope, but find strength though the friendships they are making and the acts of love, however small, that they are able to receive. Sometimes I am just overwhelmed by the strength I see in them, and other times I’m afraid for them, they seem so young and vulnerable. But I pray that SOS Chai speaks volumes into their life here! Volumes of hope, and strength, and encouragement and love. We all need to know we are loved, and that we belong and when families are so far away and sometimes even uncontactable; then a new temporary family of volunteers with smiles on their faces, enjoying a card game in the cold, or just seeking to get to know the new faces, can be that injection of love and hope that is so much needed. Maybe the cold tonight is made a little warmer by the friendships being built on the presqu’ile. And I do pray for those hard and lonely moments this month, that some how they will know just how much each of them count to us, and even more so to their Creator, who loves them unconditionally.
